This festive season, over 30 businesses, eateries, and community groups in Kennett Square will enchant visitors with their “Experience the Magic in Kennett Square” themed displays as part of the inaugural “Window Tour.” From November 22 to December 31, guests can marvel at the festive decorations and cast votes for their top choice.

“Creating window displays that capture ‘holiday magic’ has put our whole team into the Christmas spirit. We can’t wait to share them with the community,” said Deanna Johnson, owner of Shoppe Marché and co-owner of Lieu. “It’s always inspiring to see the creativity and dedication of all the businesses in town. With so many unique interpretations of the theme, Kennett Square is going to be unforgettable this season.”

Kennett Collaborative will enhance the holiday ambiance with a 20-foot tree adorned in gold, red, silver, and celadon green hues, alongside new string lighting and lanterns in the parking garage walkway. Zena Florist has crafted an eye-catching photo spot, and the streets will feature garlands and banners, plus custom gold tinsel garlands spanning State Street—a generous gift from Longwood Gardens, repurposing their 2023 Christmas tinsel garlands.

Uptown’s flower planters will brim with greenery arranged by the Four Seasons and Spade and Trowel Garden Clubs. The Borough of Kennett Square is offering free parking at the Linden Street garage on weekends from November 30, starting on Small Business Saturday, through December 22, perfect for holiday shopping in the town’s unique stores and restaurants.

This season’s festivities include the Holiday Light Parade & Tree Lighting Ceremony, Holiday Village Market at the Creamery of Kennett Square, and Tinsel on the Town. The Holiday Light Parade, the grandest yet, will commence at 7 pm on November 30 with live performances. The parade route, extending from Broad Street to Mill Road along State Street, will be filled with over 100 illuminated floats and groups, concluding with Santa and Mrs. Claus lighting the town tree.

The Holiday Village Market, set for December 7-8 and 14-15, will host a vibrant mix of over 40 artisan vendors, offering unique shopping and dining experiences, alongside family activities from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Kennett Collaborative and Square Roots Collective are organizing this event, with free parking available at designated areas and a shuttle service to the market.

On December 19, from 5-8 pm, Tinsel on the Town will expand its festive offerings. State Street will be pedestrianized for an evening of indoor and outdoor activities, including a holiday train ride, visits with Santa, caroling, and games. Special promotions will be available from local merchants to enhance the holiday shopping experience.

Kennett Collaborative extends its gratitude to all volunteers, donors, and sponsors, including lead holiday contributors Longwood Gardens, Chatham Financial, Square Roots Collective, Square Pear Fine Art Gallery, MacElree Harvey, Zena Florist, and Brandywine Senior Living, for their support in making these community events possible.
